Didier Deschamps’ Contract xtended by the French National Team

DBasia.news – It is certain that Didier Deschamps will continue his work as coach of the French national team. He had just signed a contract extension.
Deschamps’ contract actually expired at the end of December. Initially, the tactician thought of looking for a new challenge elsewhere.
Moreover, Deschamps has become the French national team coach for more than a decade. Understandably he has began to feel bored.
However, the good results achieved by the French national team at the 2022 World Cup changed everything. Despite not being able to defend the title, Les Bleus were able to lead Deschamps to the top of the party before being defeated by Argentina on penalties.
This result in fact made the French Football Federation (FFF) satisfied. Deschamps also seems to have a new passion to continue his work.
Moreover, Deschamps also received direct support to continue his work from the President of France, Emmanuel Macron. This made it easier to negotiate a contract extension for the former Juventus tactician.
“The French Football Federation and Noel Le Graet (President of the FFF), are pleased to announce the extension of Didier Deschamps’ contract as Head Coach of the French National Team until June 2026,” the FFF said in a statement.
This new four-year contract means that Deschamps will lead France at the 2024 European Cup and the 2026 World Cup. He is certainly targeted to achieve the highest achievements in these two events.
In addition, the FFF also extended the contracts of Deschamps’ assistants. They are Guy Stephan (assistant coach), Franck Raviot (goalkeeping coach), Cyril Moine (physical trainer).
This certainty also automatically closes the opportunity for Zinedine Zidane to occupy the position of the French national team coach. He had indeed emerged as a prime candidate for this job had Deschamps’ contract not been extended.
