Diego Costa Called Antonio Conte Not a Top Coach

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa has criticized his former coach, Antonio Conte. According to the 31-year-old striker, Conte is not a top coach.

Conte (50 years old) gushed Chelsea in mid 2016-2018 with one Premier League title and FA Cup. Ahead of the 2017-18 season Conte gave a message to Costa that he was no longer part of his squad – it was confirmed by Costa.

The Spanish-blooded Brazilian striker finally returned to Atletico Madrid, Conte was then replaced by Maurizio Sarri and began to train again in 2019 at Inter Milan.

Costa (31) had already forgotten that moment and did not hold a grudge against Conte. Even so he thinks Conte must fix the way to handle players so he can become the top coach in Europe.

“We (Conte and I) have problems off the pitch, but I think he is a very good manager. I have no hard feelings (grudges) towards Conte,” Costa told ESPN.

“But to become a top manager, he must change the human side of his management,” he continued.

Last season the name Conte was once associated with Real Madrid who had fired Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari – before appointing Zinedine Zidane. But Costa is pessimistic Conte can last more than a season if he coaches El Real.

“He is a man who is often suspicious. With the team, say like Real Madrid, he did not last a season,” Costa added.
