Diego Costa Returns to the Premier League

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Diego Costa,  former Chelsea striker, is back in the Premier League with the forward now joining Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 33-year-old player has been without a club since breaking with Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro in January.

However, that has not prevented the forward who scored 59 goals in three seasons at Stamford Bridge between 2014 and 2017 from returning to England, where he has previously won two league titles and the League Cup.

Costa told Wolves’ official website about his goals: “Scoring goals, doing the best I can, giving everything. Finding my place as a person, a player and understanding how I really feel because it’s a big challenge.”

“It’s not an easy challenge because you’re not going to play in an easy league and you can’t play it the way you want to.”

“It’s a demanding competition, especially physically and it’s something good to test myself and I’m ready for it.”

Wolves signed Costa as a temporary replacement for their summer signing Sasa Kalajdzic, who suffered a cruciate ligament injury on his debut and he is likely to become manager Bruno Lage’s immediate priority.

Apart from shining with Chelsea, Costa also won two La Liga crowns with Atletico Madrid while helping them to qualify for the Champions League final.

However, he has failed to make international appearances since 2018 and Wolves were forced to appeal under the pretext of “exceptional circumstances” to grant him a permit to work in England, having his first application rejected.
