Don’t Need Timo Werner, Liverpool Stay Strong
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Jose Enrique does not agree if Liverpool buy Timo Werner, the former Liverpool left-back considers that Liverpool are still strong up front, the departure of Sadio Mane does not make Liverpool weak.
Werner has been strengthening Chelsea since 2020 after being bought from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. However, Werner struggled to show a sharp appearance with the Blues.
Werner has appeared in 89 games in all competitions for Chelsea. However, the German national team bomber could only record 23 goals and produce 21 assists.
Werner’s contract with Chelsea still remains until 2025. This makes Werner’s future at Stamford Bridge a question mark.
Former Ireland goalkeeper Paddy Kenny recently advised Werner to move to Liverpool. According to him, Jurgen Klopp can restore the sharpness of the 26-year-old player.
“All the players at Liverpool work hard for Klopp and they can all produce positive results. Klopp’s work at Liverpool is extraordinary and every player he signs turns into a world class player,” said Kenny on Football Insider.
“If Werner wants to join, isn’t Klopp the right person to help him get back to his best level?”
“It would be great if he joined a club like Liverpool. We all know that he has not yet reached his best level at Chelsea, we know he can still do more,” continued Kenny.
“If there’s someone who can get Werner back to his best like we saw in Germany, it’s Klopp.”
Recently, Football Insider said that Liverpool were considering the possibility of signing Werner. The Reds’ interest is still in its early stages, so there hasn’t been any movement.
Jose Enrique assesses Timo Werner as a good player. However, he feels Liverpool currently don’t need Werner given the attacking options that Jurgen Klopp currently has.
“Good players but I don’t believe we need them with the players we have up front,” Werner wrote on Twitter.
