Dries Mertens Disappointed Despite Napoli’s Win
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Dries Mertens, the Belgian player, was disappointed even though Napoli managed to win in the Continuing Serie A, Monday (30/9). In the match that took place at the Stadio San Paulo, Napoli defeated Brescia by a score of 2-1.
The Belgian player stated that Napoli’s game wasn’t very good. According to him Napoli did not maximize the chances of goals being created. Mertens became more disappointed as he failed to match the record of Napoli legend, Diego Maradona.
“We should not do this often (making opponents score) as it will create a loss, even though we managed to win,” Mertens was quoted as saying by Football5star.com from Football Italia.
“We must continue to attack and not withdraw every minute. We must be able to build a better attack scheme in each match, “he added.
In the match, Mertens did score one goal. But he threw away the opportunity he received from Allan Loureiro’s bait.
“I’m also a little disappointed because I failed to score from Allan’s bait. Because that will be an important goal for me, “he said.
If you can score two goals in a match against Brescia, Mertens will equal Diego Maradona’s record. Mertens’s goal collection is currently 114 goals for the club nicknamed Partenopei or a one goal difference from Maradona’s collection.
