DBasia.news – A maneuver was made by Barcelona ahead of the closing of the transfer market this summer. Blaugrana was trying to sell one of its young stars, Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele is in demand by two English giants, namely Manchester United and Liverpool. Even though both of them were intend to be loaned, Barcelona actually has no objection in releasing the player permanently.

Reported by the Mirror, Barcelona is willing to reduce Dembele’s value significantly to be in the range of 45 to 54 million pounds. Even though they brought in the French national player for around 131 million pounds in 2017.

Barcelona intends to sell Dembele for a reason. He was no longer the main choice after Philippe Coutinho returned and Ansu Fati appeared.

Dembele’s track record, who is often injured, is also a consideration for Barcelona. During the three seasons to strengthen the club from Catalonia, the former Borussia Dortmund player only appeared 75 times and scored 19 goals.

In addition, Barcelona can also use Dembele’s sales funds to purchase new players. The coach, Ronald Koeman still dreams of having Memphis Depay in his squad.

The problem is, Dembele is not interested in leaving Barcelona. He still wants to fight for his place in the core squad.

This condition has made Barcelona try to smooth Dembele’s departure. Koeman has shown this by saying that the player is not his main choice in his plans.

With time running out, anything can still happen in the transfer market. It is possible that Dembele will leave Camp Nou and be replaced by Depay.
