Eden Hazard Reveals One Player Deserves the 2018 Ballon d’Or

DBasia.news – TChelsea wing striker, Eden Hazard, stays humble when asked whether he deserves the 2018 Ballon d’Or trophy. He thinks Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker, Kylian Mbappe, deserves more.

The competition to achieve 2018 Ballon d’Or this time is more complicated compared to the recent decade. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo who dominated the match aren’t included on the list.

The strongest candidates are three players, Eden Hazard, Kylian Mbappe, and Luka Modric.

Luka Modric is the strongest candidate due to his contribution for Croatia national team in the final round of 2018 World Cup. Modric also helped Real Madrid winning the 2017-2018 Champions League.

Meanwhile, Eden Hazard performed impressively with Belgium national team and Chelsea. Kylian Mbappe was also the central player for France national team when they won the 2018 World Cup.

However, Eden Hazard believes Kylian Mbappe as the player who deserves the 2018 Ballon d’Or. He assumes Mbappe is more consistent.

“Even though I had a very good year, we have to keep our feet on the ground. I do not deserve the Ballon d’Or. I think there are players who have been better than me,” Hazard told RTBF.

“I would have said Luka Modric, but he plays a little less well since August or September, so if we take into account the beginning of the season, I would say Kylian Mbappe.”

“The goal for me is not to have the Ballon d’Or, it is to maximize fun on the pitch. If I win it one day, so much the better, if I don’t it, it will not be a problem,” Eden Hazard continued.
