Ederson Moraes Calls Himself as Manchester City’s Best Penalty Executor

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Manchester City goalkeeper, Ederson Moraes (27 years old) made an interesting statement. The Brazilian goalkeeper claimed that he is The Citizens’ best penalty taker.

Since signed by Man City from Benfica for 35 million pounds in 2017, Ederson is known as the goalkeeper with the best foot skills and ball distribution.

Ederson’s presence is important to support Pep Guardiola’s tactics at Man City, as well as changing the tactical constellation of EPL clubs, which now mostly uses the short ball distribution method.

Apart from that, Ederson does have experience as a set-piece executor. That’s what he did during the early stages of his Portuguese league career with Ribeirao and Rio Ave.

Previously, Pep had insisted that it was impossible to appoint Ederson as a penalty taker during the match. However, the goalkeeper insisted that he could be counted on for 12 right shots.

Ederson will return to the Portuguese environment when Man City plays against Porto in the fifth Champions League Group C match on Wednesday (2/12) am.

“I don’t practice much on free kicks. I practice kicking penalties, “said Ederson in a pre-match press conference session.

“Yes, I played for Riberao, I did take a few free kicks, but that’s not the case now. That’s the past and we [at Man City] have a number of great free-kick executors, “said the owner of 11 caps in the Brazilian national team.

“Penalty? I’m the best penalty taker, but I wasn’t assigned to take it. But the most important thing is that we can score goals and win games, “he concluded.

As far as the EPL in this season, Man City has once “thrown away the victory” when Kevin De Bruyne’s penalty was deviated when Liverpool drew 1-1 at the Etihad Stadium, last November.
