Emery Explained Welbeck and Lichtsteiner’s Condition Following the Injury Against Sporting

DBasia.news – The fourth match Group E Europa League between Arsenal against Sporting Lisbon at Emirates Stadium ended draw with no goal. From that match, Danny Welbeck got a severe injury until rushed to the hospital and Arsenal manager Unai Emery tried to explain his condition.
Welbeck listed in the starting line-up after benched for some previous matches. Unfortunately, he had the injury after bumped to Renan Riberio. The bad landing position made his ankle got injured.
Unai Emery won’t take the risk to force Welbeck on the pitch and substituted him with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at 30′. So far, The Gunners are still waiting for the medical result.
“The worst news tonight is these injuries. We think (they are) serious injuries. He has been taken to the hospital. We are going to wait (for updates),” Emery said reported by Soccerway.
“Danny was working well. He is a very good person, his commitment to us is very big. This injury is very big for him, for us and for everyone.”
Besides Welbeck, Arsenal also lose another player due to injury, Stephan Lichtsteiner. The former Juventus player was withdrawn 16 minutes before the match ended.
“Lichtsteiner is muscular. We will know (more) about his injury tomorrow,” Emery emphasized.
Meanwhile, the match ended with a 0-0 score. The Gunners’ 14 efforts didn’t result in a goal. The result ensured Aaron Ramsey and friends’ step to the next round.
