DBasia.news – Arsenal manager Unai Emery claimed to respect Laurent Koscielny’s decision to leave.
The 33-year-old defender contract is one year left at Arsenal. But Koscielny said he wanted to leave for another club this summer.
In order to smooth out his intentions, Koscielny even dared to defy. He refused to take part in the club’s pre-season tour to the United States.
So far Koscielny has been linked to several clubs. Among them are Lyon, Bordeaux, and Borussia Dortmund.
Emery admitted that he had tried to find the best solution for both parties. But his efforts failed and he now no longer interferes in the matter.
“I have talked about him, with respect for himself. I try to be with us in the position here and continue to work and find a solution between the club, between himself and us,” explained Emery.
“When he decided not to come here with us on tour, the solution is now only for the club and himself,” Emery said.
