DBasia.news – Mesut Ozil’s declining performance in Arsenal triggered the response from the club legend, Emmanuel Petit. He thinks Ozil loses the motivation.

Mesut Ozil is having a complicated problem in Arsenal. The 30-year-old player is no longer the main choice for the midfield. Moreover, in some matches, Unai Emery chose to exclude him.

The situation is getting more difficult for him because he is one of the highest-paid players in Arsenal. It’s rumored Arsenal pay £300,000 weekly salary for him. No wonder, some say The Gunners are wasting their money.

Petit thinks the current situation happens a lot. Petit sees Ozil’s difference lately.

“I think he lost his motivation and desire. He now looks as if he is just waiting for his retirement,” Petit said cited by Goal.

“A player losing his motivation happens a lot. We are not robots. Sometimes you get into a new season and it’s just not the same. It’s very difficult to play at the same level all of the time,” Petit said.

“If you earn so much money, have already won so many titles and, on top of that, if you have problems in your private life… I don’t know what’s going on in his life, but I can see what’s going on out on the pitch and his body language is not good.”

Currently, Ozil’s future is still questionable. It’s rumored that he is the target of the Chinese club.

“I don’t see him leaving the club. Where would he go? To China? Honestly. You want to see Ozil finish his career in China?” Petit continued.

“I think the club needs Ozil, Ozil needs to understand that and he must get over his frustration and try to fight until the end. To somehow save his pride,” Petit reviewed.

Besides China, Ozil might also join Italian giant, Inter Milan. But, La Benamata hasn’t given the answer so far.
