England National Team Worried After Getting News of Billy Gilmour Tested Positive for COVID-19

DBasia.news – Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour has tested positive for Covid-19. The English side who faced Scotland in the second match of Group D were also worried.

Reported by the Mirror, the England national team was worried after Gilmour tested positive for Covid-19. Because a number of English players had direct contact with Gilmour after the game. Gilmour at least had direct contact with two England players after the match, Ben Chillwell and Mason Mount who were team-mates at Chelsea.

Gilmour, who was voted the best player in the match against England, tested positive for Covid-19 in a test held on Sunday (20/6). Scotland’s national team confirmed Gilmour will undergo quarantine for 10 days.

In the Covid-19 test that was held, all players and other team members tested negative. UEFA does require all team members to carry out a PCR test two days after they play.

The Scottish stronghold has run additional tests on Monday (21/6). The result is that no player has been infected by Billy Gilmour.

There has been no news from the English Football Association (FA) about the additional tests they will carry out. Gareth Southgate’s squad are reportedly training as usual at the Tottenham Hotspur training complex.
