England’s success at Euro 2020 will benefit Man United

By db-admin

DBasia.news – The English National Team has the opportunity to end its title drought at the 2020 European Cup. If that happens, Manchester United will also benefit from it.

England will face Denmark in the semifinal match at Wembley Stadium, Thursday (8/7) at 02.00 WIB. If they win, the Three Lions would only have to defeat Italy in the top party to steal the title.

Britain’s opportunity to make this happen is quite open. Gareth Southgate’s side have found their best form in this tournament.

Success at Euro 2020 will create a winning mentality in the England squad. This is what will be carried over to the club level.

This was revealed directly by former Manchester United captain, Nemanja Vidic. Currently, three Red Devils players, namely Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford, are the mainstay of the England national team.

“Winning trophies is what the best players do and trophies improve the quality of a player. At United, we didn’t win a trophy for several years before 2006,” Vidic told The Athletic.

“The players were really nervous until we won the League Cup. As soon as we won, the confidence and energy changed and we were more relaxed because we know how it feels to win.”

The winning mentality is indeed the biggest problem that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United has. This factor has made them fail to win the Premier League and Europa League last season despite leading the standings and advancing to the final.

Manchester United as a whole has been experiencing a title drought for quite some time. The 2016-2017 Europa League trophy is the last title won.

Meanwhile, for two prestigious titles, namely the Premier League and the Champions League, Manchester United’s famine period is longer. They have not managed to land one of these trophies for almost a decade at Old Trafford.

England is indeed reinforced by players from other big clubs such as Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool. But the players of the three clubs now have a winning mentality after winning in the last few seasons.
