English Premier League: There is VAR Drama, Palace Hold Arsenal Draw
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Arsenal was held to a 2-2 draw by his guest, Crystal Palace in the Premier League continued on Sunday (10/28/2019) at the Emirates Stadium. Winning two goals first, Arsenal’s goal was broken by Palace twice later.
The Gunners were held to a draw by the Eagles by a score of 2-2. Arsenal coach, Unai Emery claimed to be very dissatisfied with these results.
He also protested several decisions from VAR (Video Assistant Referee) which often harmed his team. First, it was when the VAR decided to give a penalty to Palace for the Calum Chambers incident with Wilfried Zaha which led to Luka Milivojevic’s penalty goal.
“I do not understand the reaction of the referee and VAR. Last week the referee didn’t check the VAR penalty for us, but we appreciate that. Two weeks ago there was one penalty for Pepe against Bournemouth, they didn’t check, okay. I do not understand,” said Unai Emery as quoted by Sky Sports.
Furthermore, Emery also questioned the decision of the referee and VAR who annulled the second goal from Sokratis Papastathopoulos which should have been a winning goal for Arsenal.
In fact, Emery said that it was appropriate for Arsenal to win over Palace because his team played well, despite the controversial decisions of the referee and VAR.
“For me, there is no confusion if it’s a good decision. We deserve to win, we have a good reaction after they equalize. We scored but then they didn’t count (disallowed, red),” Emery said.
“We have not conceded many opportunities apart from penalties for scoring goals. Our reaction was very good, also the fans helped us at the last minute to score the third goal and win the match but this did not happen,” he said.
