Erik Ten Hag: I could go to a better club than Manchester United

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Erik ten Hag admits he turned down “better” offers before deciding to take charge of Manchester United.

The Ajax boss will officially replace interim manager Ralf Rangnick on the touchline at Old Trafford at the end of the season, but has already flown to England to start working at his new club.

Man United are currently on their worst points collection in Premier League history, failing to qualify for the Champions League, and have been on a five-year title drought.

Speaking to De Telegraaf, Ten Hag is unafraid of the tough task he will carry out in Manchester, as well as revealing that he has turned down other job offers in order to coach the Red Devils.

“I have the option of working at another club, which has a better foundation,” he said.

“But I chose Manchester United. There are a lot of things to work on there and that’s the challenge. The club and I are on the same frequency about how I want to coach them.”

One of Ten Hag’s first tasks as Man United boss was to meet with Cirstiano Ronaldo, who is rumored to be leaving.

The Dutch manager openly called Ronaldo a “giant” and insisted that he was looking forward to working with the legendary striker.
