DBasia.news – Erik ten Hag gave a fairly brief answer in his first interview as Manchester United coach. When asked if he would work with Cristiano Ronaldo, Erik ten Hag answered it enthusiastically but curtly.
“Of course,” said Erik ten Hag, as quoted by BolaSport.com from the official Manchester United website.
Erik ten Hag was then asked again about what Cristiano Ronaldo could bring to his Manchester United squad.
Again Erik ten Hag only gave a few words, even this time with a laugh. “Ronaldo? Goal!” said the coach who had just brought Ajax Amsterdam to the 2021-2022 Dutch League champion added.
Erik ten Hag then stressed that he would soon discuss his plans with Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I spoke to Cristiano Ronaldo before I spoke to you,” said Erik ten Hag again.
Both Erik ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo have been seen supporting each other.
Previously, Erik ten Hag stated that he would keep Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag made this statement publicly in an interview with Dutch journalist Mike Verweij.
According to Ten Hag, Ronaldo is an important figure for Manchester United next season.
This is evidenced by the achievement of Ronaldo who successfully recorded 24 goals and 3 assists from 38 matches with the Red Devils this season.
Ten Hag also said that Ronaldo is a great player.
“I want to keep Ronaldo at Manchester United, of course,” said Ten Hag.
“Ronaldo is an important person for this club.”
“He is a giant for what he has shown so far and how ambitious he is,” continued Ten Hag.
CR7, Ronaldo’s nickname, also warmly welcomed the presence of Ten Hag as the new captain of Manchester United.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner admitted that he was enthusiastic about working with Ten Hag.
Ronaldo said that Ten Hag had done a great job with Ajax Amsterdam. Therefore, Ronaldo will support Ten Hag and ask the Man United board to give him time.
“What I know about Ten Hag is that he is doing a fantastic job for Ajax. He is an experienced coach, but we need to give him time. Things need to change according to his will.” Ronaldo stated.
“I wish us success, of course. Because if you are successful, all of Manchester United will be successful too. I wish him all the best. We are happy and excited. Not only as players but also as supporters.”
“I wish him all the best and let’s believe that next year we will win a trophy,” the five-time Ballon d’Or winner continued.
