Erik ten Hag’s response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s chance to play Brighton and Hove Albion

DBasia.news – Manchester United will appear without Anthony Martial when they host Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League’s 2022-2023 opener, which doesn’t necessarily make CR7 played.
The duel of the two teams will take place at Old Trafford, Sunday (7/8), at 20.00 WIB. The new manager of Manchester United, Erik ten Hag certainly wants to mark his Premier League debut.
Throughout the pre-season, Martial became Ten Hag’s mainstay on the front lines. The French striker made up for it by scoring three goals.
At the same time, Ronaldo missed most of Manchester United’s pre-season. He only played in the last match against Rayo Vallecano.
Ten Hag had admitted that Ronaldo was not ready to appear in the Premier League’s opening match. His fitness condition still needs to be improved.
But with Martial’s injury and the lack of replacement options, Ronaldo’s opportunities to play are open. Ten Hag himself chose to dwell over this.
“I’m thrilled because we have a top striker. Ronaldo is in the squad,” Ten Hag said at his pre-match press conference.
“(Regarding Ronaldo’s chances of appearing) We’ll see on Sunday.”
Ten Hag will most likely field Ronaldo as a substitute should his team experience a dead end. This moment can be used by the Portuguese superstar to show his quality.
As is known, Ronaldo is widely rumored to want to leave Manchester United in order to continue playing in the Champions League. But no big club wants to sign him as he is worried that he will suffer the same fate as the Red Devils.
