Erik ten Helpless Without Bruno Fernandes
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, admitted that he is still thinking about how to replace Bruno Fernandes when his team travels to Aston Villa in the 2022-2023 Premier League.
Bruno picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the Red Devils’ 1-0 win over West Ham last week, meaning that he has to serve a one-match suspension in the Premier League.
Ten Hag was left confused by the situation, claiming that he and the staff were still evaluating who would fill Bruno’s role on the pitch.
“We knew that we had to replace Bruno, that’s pretty clear,” Ten Hag told the club’s official website.
“We have to see how we replace him, and we have to think about it, and it will be very short after this game [against Real Sociedad].”
“I have one night to think about it,” he concluded.
Bruno has been a key player for Ten Hag this season, and his absence against Villa will be a blow for United.
However, the Dutch tactician has several options. The return of Donny van de Beek gave Ten Hag a bit of relief, and he was able to play the midfielder in place of Bruno.
In addition, Christian Eriksen can also act as an attacking midfielder, although not as agile as Bruno, the Danish star’s vision of playing is clearly unquestionable.
Marcus Rashford has also been dropped several times as a number 10 player by Ten Hag, and he will certainly be ready if given the trust by the manager.
