Erling Haaland is considered less sharp, Pep Guardiola insists there are small details missing

DBasia.news – Erling Haaland has indeed managed to record his name on the scoreboard in his first match with Manchester City in the 2022/2023 Premier League. However, his performance is still below expectations.
The match against Bournemouth is proof to see how difficult Haaland is to deal with low defensive blocks like Premier League teams. It doesn’t move much.
Even though he could have had several chances, Haaland failed to capitalize on each of them. As a result, he was pulled out in the 74th minute.
Man City manager Josep Guardiola said that the performance could not be separated from the adaptation needed by new players.
According to Pep, Haaland is not yet fully integrated with the tactics applied at Man City. That coupled with the style of play in Germany and England are different.
This took Haaland a moment to pay attention to a number of small details that Pep thought were missing.
“We are very happy with Erling. Of course there are small details missing, but it is only a matter of time until things are done,” he said at a press conference.
Pep had anticipated the adaptation. He also already understands how to overcome this, one of which is by giving more playing minutes.
“Just like other new players. You definitely need time to adapt. There is connection and coordination that requires the right tempo and timing,” he said.
“But I’m sure everything will happen. This will be dealt with game by game.”
Meanwhile, Haaland when he first arrived at Dortmund immediately kicked off. When making his debut for just 34 minutes, Haaland scored a hat-trick straight away!
The next game, he scored two goals, despite only playing for 25 minutes. He only played since the early minutes of the third game and still scored two goals and one assist.
During his two seasons with Dortmund, Haaland managed to score 86 goals from 89 appearances in all competitions.
