Estimated by Chelsea and Man United, Declan Rice Talks about His Future at West Ham

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Since promotion from West Ham United’s academy in 2017 Declan Rice has been the backbone of the club’s midfield, as well as in the England national team. Only 23 years old, Rice was even being chased by two English clubs: Chelsea and Manchester United.

Rice has also played for Chelsea at the academy level and he knows one name who is also his partner, Mason Mount. While Man United need a defensive midfielder who can also make the transition to play.

Rice’s price will not be cheap and under £100 million, but the player has reportedly turned down two contract extension offers from West Ham. His future there is also in doubt.

In an interview with Gary Neville on the podcast The Overlap, Rice spoke about his future and his ambition to win trophies. It can happen at West Ham, but the club doesn’t have a good history of doing it every season.

“I’ve always said it, I don’t want to have a career where I don’t win anything,” Rice said.

“I grew up as a kid watching all these top players win big trophies, the Premier League and the Champions League.

“As a football fan and a player I want to win the best things, I want to win the Premier League and lift that trophy, I want to win the Champions League and I want to win the FA Cup, the League Cup, things with England.”

“I want to win everything. As a footballer, if you don’t have that ambition, why are you playing? I want to have the experience of winning trophies and being the best I can be,” said Rice.

West Ham this season still have a chance to give Rice a trophy, they are still in the last 16 of the Europa League and reached the fifth round of the FA Cup.
