European League Recap: Real Madrid Beaten, Chelsea and Inter Win a landslide

DBasia.news –  The matches in Europe’s top leagues have taken place in the middle of this week. Some of the matches that took place on Thursday (4/4) WIB included: Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Starting from Serie A, Italy, Inter won a landslide victory of 4-0 at Genoa headquarters and the striker who was recently talked about publicly, Mauro Icardi, dropped as a starter for the first time in six weeks.

Icardi leads the Inter front line playing without Lautaro Martinez because of an injury. The 26-year-old striker scored Inter’s third goal in the 40th minute from the spot, while the other three goals were scored by Roberto Gagliardini (15 ‘and 80’) and Ivan Perisic (54 ‘).

Genoa played with 10 players when Cristian Romero received a red card in the 39th minute. The victory lifted Inter to third place in the standings with 56 points, shifting AC Milan to fourth with a collection of 52 points.

Positive results were also achieved by Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City in the Premier League. Chelsea won a convincing 3-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion via goals from Olivier Giroud, Eden Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

While Tottenham, who played in the new stadium, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, won 2-0 with goals from Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen. Then, Man City won 2-0 over Cardiff City thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane.

The team’s third victory changed the top six of the 2018-19 Premier League standings. Man City overtook Liverpool in the hunt for the Premier League title and sat at the top of the table with a point.

Tottenham returned to third place with 64 points followed by Arsenal (63 points), Chelsea (63 points) and Manchester United (61 points). Among the four clubs, Arsenal have the advantage of one postponed game.

Switching to LaLiga, Spain. Real Madrid ended their undefeated record since being coached by Zinedine Zidane in the second period training the club. El Real’s 1-2 defeat at Estadio Mestalla, Valencia headquarters.

Los Blancos won possession of 68 percent compared to 32 percent Valencia, however, the hosts were more effective in converting two of the four kicks on target to Keylor Navas.

Valencia’s goals were scored by Goncalo Guedes (35 ‘) and former Madrid defender in the mid-2008-2011, Ezequiel Garay (83’). The only Madrid entertainment goal scored by Karim Benzema in the 90+ 3 minutes.

Madrid did not move from the third rank of the standings with 57 points from 30 matches that have been going on, 13 points adrift of Barcelona at the top of LaLiga.

While Valencia is keeping up with the game in the Champions League next season. Currently, they are only one point adrift of Getafe who are ranked fourth in the standings.
