European Super League is ready to bounce back

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus still haven’t given up on the European Super League project. They want to revive the controversial competition after the backlash and rejection in April.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, Barcelona president Joan Laporta and Juventus president Andrea Agnelli are drawing up plans for the reconstruction of the competition that separated themselves from UEFA.

The three clubs will not be present when six Premier League teams, who reneged on plans after 48 hours of fan protests, attend the European Club Association (ECA) conference on Monday (6/9).

The ECA will welcome back Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal to the conference.

The three originators of the Super League are allegedly working with Flint, a London and Brussels-based Public Relations (PR) firm to revive their cause. Flint’s presentation document states: ‘Pave the way to the Super League, a strategy for reconstruction, restarting and victory.’

They think that the system currently run by UEFA is a crude monopoly and they have promised fair competition. A list of potentially recruited advocates has also reportedly been compiled.

The Super League plan shocked world football when it was announced in April, and UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin was no exception. This provoked outrage across fan groups in Europe, especially in England.

Chelsea were the first to withdraw from discourse on the competition, soon followed by their club mates, following the anger of supporters outside Stamford Bridge and across the country.
