Everton finally turned down Marcelo Bielsa
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Marcelo Bielsa asked for one condition that must be met if he became manager of Everton, namely to be allowed to manage the U-21 team before taking over the senior team. Then The Toffees rejected Bielsa’s terms, and the Merseyside club then turned to Sean Dyche.
Several rumors arose, among them was due to the tactician who wanted to build a team from scratch according to his style, so he was more interested in managing the U-21 team until the end of the season before taking on the role of first team manager. Other rumors state that Everton turned down Bielsa because the coach asked for a salary equivalent to what he got at Leeds United, £6 million.
Since leaving Leeds, Bielsa has been popular. He has many admirers due to his impresive managerial resume. Everton owner, Farhad Moshiri actually included Bielsa on the top list of candidates for the club’s new coach.
However, Bielsa’s anti-mainstream desire is clearly not in line with Everton’s closest target, who currently needs a ‘stinger’ to quickly get out of the relegation trap.
Switching from Bielsa, Everton are also focusing on signing Dyche, the former Burnley manager who has not owned a club since last April. The tactician, who spent a decade at Turf Moor, has a reputation for preventing the club from being thrown into relegation. Dyce’s appointment is believed to be announced by Everton this weekend.
