DBasia.news –  Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will extend the contract with Marco Verratti for the next 5 years. Verratti stressed that he will stay with PSG until 2024 and he feels he has entered an important early stage in his football career.

The midfielder’s contract will expire in 2021, but French Ligue 1 champions move quickly to tie up one of the most successful players in their history for a longer period.

The Italian international player joined PSG from Pescara in 2012 and has recorded 290 appearances for the club, contributing 48 assists and nine goals while successfully winning a total of 22 trophies.

Verratti said in March that he opened up opportunities to complete his career in Paris, despite being linked to rumors of transfers to Juventus and Manchester United.

And the tiny midfielder, who will turn 27 next week, is finally happy with establishing his future commitments with PSG.

“I think I will enter the most important period of my career,” Verratti told the PSG official website after receiving a new contract.

“I think at the age of 27, you know more things, you have more experience and I think it’s time to do things right. That is why I can continue to be in Paris.”

He added: “I feel like playing for a team that has a very large project. For me, that’s the main thing because I want to try to win as much as possible. And here, we have that possibility because we have a great team. We can do great things together.”
