Fabinho Hopes Liverpool Will Bring Raphinha from Leeds
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Fabinho admits he hopes Liverpool sign compatriot from Brazil, Raphinha in the summer transfer window, as the Leeds winger is a long-term target for the Reds.
The two are getting used to each other on the international stage, but Fabinho also wants to play alongside Raphinha at club level this season.
Liverpool have long had an interest in the 24-year-old, who made his Brazil debut with two assists in the 3-1 win over Venezuela earlier this month and will play alongside Fabinho against Uruguay on Friday (15/10).
According to Melissa Reddy of the Independent, the Reds started following Raphinha after the player’s outstanding performances in the Copa Sao Paulo Under-20 tournament in 2016, and news of interest has surfaced since then.
In February, the winger was touted as the club’s summer target, although Yorkshire Post’s Graham Smyth insisted in June that many clubs “definitely have an interest but Liverpool have “never been in contact” with Leeds over a deal.
With his skill, pace and ability to decide the game, the right-sided forward seems well-suited to filling in for Jurgen Klopp’s attack, as the Liverpool midfielder told reporters this week, relayed by UOL.
“Since he arrived in the Premier League he has had very good performances and highlights,” he said.
“For Liverpool, I hope that will happen. But in the end, he stayed with Leeds.
“He was Leeds’ best player today. Every time we play against them we know he is the most dangerous player.”
