DBasia.news –  As an active non-goalkeeper, Fabio Quagliarella has appeared in many matches. That has made his name now enter into the history of Serie A history books regarding the number of appearances.

Quagliarella played a key role in Sampdoria’s 2-1 comeback victory over Udinese, Monday (25/11) AM at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, by causing his team to receive a penalty in the 75th minute which was converted by Gaston Ramirez into the winning goal.

Although afterwards the 36-year-old had to be pulled out due to injury, his action in the match did not prevent him from making his 450th appearance in Serie A.

Quagliarella is the only active player, who is not positioned as a goalkeeper, with the highest number of appearances in the history of the highest caste in Italian competition.

As for the overall performance record held by Gianluigi Buffon with a total of 903 appearances and is likely to continue given that the veteran goalkeeper is still listed as part of the Juventus squad this 2019/20 season.

Quagliarella stole the attention throughout the Serie A campaign last season despite being in the twilight, successfully registering his name as the top scorer of the competition with a collection of 26 goals.
