DBasia.news –  Cesc Fabregas said he was sad to see the way Arsene Wenger left Arsenal in 2018.

Wenger’s departure at that time was believed to have occurred because of the demands of the board of directors of the Gunners who wanted him to resign.

Last season was the climax of Wenger’s career because Arsenal’s two successive seasons did not qualify for the Champions League, an inconsistent performance which led to protests from fans who wanted him to leave.

Having no other choice, Wenger chose to resign while still leaving a one-year contract.

“In a few moments, I was sad, huh. He (Wenger) did not deserve to be treated like that. In football, everything is about (what happened) today. What you did yesterday (in the past), unfortunately, did not count,” Fabregas said.

“When you retire after 20-30 years ago, people will talk about it and remember it like ‘wow, what have they done’,” he continued.
