Fans’ condemnation Influenced Shkodran Mustafi’s appearance
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Shkodran Mustafi admitted that he often received criticism from fans because the appearance was considered not good. Mustafi claimed not only criticism he received, but there was also criticism. This is a pressure on Mustafi and can affect the game.
The German central defender was brought in by Arsenal from Valencia in the summer of 2016. Until now Mustafi has made 125 appearances in all competitions with nine goals and four assists.
Even so, Mustafi has only played 10 times in the 2019/20 season. The 27-year-old footballer was even played only once as a starter in the English League when facing Norwich City in the era of caretaker coach Freddie Ljungberg.
Since being strengthened by Mustafi, the Gunners find it difficult to finish in the top four. It is undeniable that Mustafi has become one of the players often used as a scapegoat for Arsenal’s failure in recent seasons.
“Once you read criticism, it will be fixed in your mind,” Mustafi said to the club’s official website, quoted by the Daily Mail. “When things don’t go right, it’s obvious you don’t like what you read. You don’t agree with many comments, so that makes the situation difficult.”
“For people who only look at it from the outside, they only see situations where those mistakes occur and when they are angry with you. You then become nervous yourself because you don’t want to make mistakes like that anymore.”
“After all, no player wants to make a mistake. That is something that can happen,” concluded Mustafi.
Arsenal is still slumped after ranked 10th in the standings with a distance of 11 points from Chelsea in fourth. This weekend, the London Cannon will host Sheffield United at the Emirates Stadium.
“After that for me and the club is rising. Right now things are not going to be our hope. We just have to be united as a team, club, and our fans. People who want the best for Arsenal, must be united and rise together,” he added.
