Fernandes challenges Pogba to break the Premier League assist record

DBasia.news – Bruno Fernandes gave a challenge to Paul Pogba. He asked his teammate to break the Premier League assist record.
Fernandes and Pogba were the stars of Manchester United’s victory in the 2021-2022 Premier League opener. They brought the Red Devils to beat Leeds United with a striking score of 5-1.
Fernandes successfully recorded a hat-trick in the match. Remarkably, all these goals were created through open play.
But Pogba was no less impressive than Fernandes. The French midfielder was able to carve four assists.
“Paul is a quality player, we all believe in and know his quality. The point is to make performances like that and help the team get better,” Fernandes told MUTV.
“He’s doing really well and he’s a big player.”
The score makes Pogba the eighth player in Premier League history to score four assists in one game.
He is in line with big names such as Dennis Bergkamp, Cesc Fabregas, Santi Cazorla, Jose Antonio Reyes, Emmanuel Adebayor, Dusan Tadic, and Harry Kane.
But Fernandes believes Pogba can still perform better. Therefore, he challenged the player who often changes his hairstyle to at least record five assists in one game.
So far, no one has been able to do that. Then Pogba will be in the history books if he succeeds.
“I hope he can keep getting better because I think he can still do a lot more. I’m pretty sure Paul can make five or six (assists) in one game,” he added.
Fernandes is certainly not just challenging. He is also ready to help Pogba break the record.
Mature passes will be of no use if the executor fails to score. Fernandes must convert every opportunity that Pogba creates.
The combination of Pogba and Fernandes is now the main threat for every Manchester United opponent. It is not impossible that this duo has finally succeeded in ending the drought for the Old Trafford title.
