FIFA Gave a Fine to Manchester City for Violating the Rules

DBasia.news –  Manchester City has violated FIFA rules, the World Football Federation, regarding the recruitment of minors. However, uniquely, City was not given severe punishment.

FIFA has a number of rules regarding footballers under the age of 18. This is in order to protect the rights of the players in the future.

The rule is often underestimated by Europe’s top clubs until finally being sanctioned with a transfer ban. Some who have been victims of the rules include Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea.

Now, Manchester City is proven to have violated FIFA rules number 19. Which means it is related to regulations that protect player status and transfers.

Even so, instead of accepting a transfer ban, Manchester City has only received a fine. The Citizens are required to pay 370,000 francs or 314,650 pounds.

“The FIFA Disciplinary Committee accepts the statement that Manchester City is guilty of violating the rules. We have given the club a penalty of 370,000 francs,” the FIFA official statement said.

FIFA has investigated Manchester City’s transfer over the past few years. The Citizens have broken the rules since bringing Benjamin Garre from Velez Sarsfield in 2016.

In addition, Manchester City has brought in two players from Africa, George Davies and Dominic Oduro. The three players were recruited before the age of 18.
