Fiorentina and Minor Records in 1938
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Fiorentina’s big ambitions are not in line with their performance so far in Serie A. They even approached a minor record in 1938.
Despite having brought Kevin-Prince Boateng and Franck Ribery, Fiorentina is still at the bottom of the standings, of the four matches that have taken place, with two points from two draws and two defeats.
Latest, Fiorentina 2-0 lead via Jose Luis Palomino own goal (24′) and Ribery (65′) when against Atalanta on Sunday (22/9) night Western Indonesian Time, lost after Josip Ilicic (84′) and Timothy Castagne (90’+5′) scores for the 2-2 final result.
As a result, Fiorentina has never won in four Serie A matches. If added to the results of last season, according to Football-Italy, Fiorentina has never won 18 times in a row – the worst record since 81 years ago or 1938.
In the 1937-38 season, Fiorentina did not win 21 Serie A matches in a row. This year, Fiorentina haven’t won a Serie A match since winning 4-1 against SPAL in an away match on 17 February 2019.
Vincenzo Montella, Fiorentina coach, can only regret his team’s failure to win against Napoli, Juventus, and Atalanta, even though they played well.
“We have played against Napoli, Juventus, and Atalanta, so the top three teams from last season, and we have played very well against them,” Montella told Sky Sport Italia.
“We deserve better from those matches, so we should give appreciation for this very difficult start,” continued the legend of AS Roma.
Fiorentina in the next match in week five of Serie A will host Sampdoria at Artemio Franchi on Thursday (9/26) at 2:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.
