Five Players Are Changing the Jersey Number, Including Morata

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata announced the change of jersey number a few days ago. Morata will use the 20 number jersey, previously 9.

Alvaro Morata’s decision raised a question from Chelsea fans. No wonder, the 9 number jersey is identical to Morata.

However, apparently, Alvaro Morata really loves his family, hence the jersey number change. Alvaro Morata chose 29 to commemorate the birth date of his twins. The twins named Alessandro and Leonardo were born on July 29, 2018.

“It is a day I will never forget, to welcome my twin sons into the world. My family is so important to me and I want to honor them and my wife, Alice when I am on the pitch,” Alvaro Morata said.

“Which is why I have decided to take a different number for the new season and remember this special day by adding the number 2 to my shirt,” he continued.

Alvaro Morata wasn’t the only player changing his jersey number this season. There are five other players:

Wojciech Szczesny

Juventus is known to have great goalkeepers in the past. Let’s see Giampiero Combi, Dino Zoff, until Gianluigi Buffon with 1 jersey number.
