DBasia.news – Serie A giants Inter Milan has finally announced the cancellation of plans to go to the United States to participate in the Florida Cup pre-season tournament.

Initially, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Everton, and Millonairos will take part in the pre-season tournament, Florida Cup 2021. The event will be held at Camping World Stadium, Orlando, Florida, starting July 25th.

The plan, Inter Milan will fight Arsenal. Meanwhile, Everton got a share to face Millonairos. The winners will elbow each other in the final match.

However, ahead of the kick off, Arsenal chose to resign. The Gunners do not want to take risks because a number of players have been exposed to the corona virus.

Now, Inter Milan is following in the footsteps of Arsenal. La Beneamata does not want to take risks because the United States is indeed being hit by a wave of a new variant of the corona virus. The New York Times reported that about 62,000 new cases were found on July 20.

“FC Internazionale Milano announces that they will not be traveling to the United States for the Florida Cup given the risks of international travel due to the spread of the pandemic. These risks have also caused Arsenal F.C. to decide to resign,” Inter Milan wrote in an official statement.

Even though they did not participate in the Florida Cup, Inter Milan continued to develop the team ahead of the 2021-2022 Serie A. The Nerazzurri held a friendly match against Pro Vercelli. As a result, Inter won 4-0.

In that match, Inter’s new midfielder, Hakan Calhanoglu, scored a goal. In addition, Marcelo Brozovic also listed himself on the scoreboard. Meanwhile, the other two goals belonged to 20-year-old Simoe Mulattieri.

Inter Milan will start their move in Serie A 2021-2022 by meeting Genoa on August 21 at the Giuseppe Meazza. Inter players who are on holiday such as Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez will also return in the near future.
