Forget the Premier League, Ian Wright Asks Arsenal to Focus on the Europa League Title Pursuit

DBasia.news –  Arsenal had started the season through 22 matches, never losing in a row in all competitions. But lately, the performance of the Gunners has declined and has been hit by inconsistencies in play.

Chelsea began to find the best touch of the game after getting Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus. Even so, Manchester United are unbeaten in 10 consecutive matches in all competitions with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ian Wright, Arsenal legend, advised his former team to focus on pursuing the Europa League title so they can play in the Champions League next season. Although currently only three points adrift of Chelsea, who are in fourth place, Arsenal will have difficulty entering the Champions League zone if they are still playing inconsistently .

“Back again when the team underwent the never losing record, I think it gave false hopes to the fans to finish in the top four. The Europa League, in my opinion, is something that Arsenal should focus on,” Wright said at the Goal.

“Honestly, it’s the only thing you have to focus on because if you see the competition in the Premier League, Arsenal seems a little behind. Chelsea seems to have started to rise because they have the striker they want, Man United are in good form.”

Arsenal’s chance to advance to the Europa League final is quite wide open. In the last 32 they will meet BATE Borisov in the first leg which takes place at the Borisov Arena on Friday ( 1/5/2) at 5:55 AM Western Indonesian Time.

If later there will be a potential for big teams to block Arsenal, the teams will be: Lazio, Inter Milan, Benfica, Real Betis, Bayer Leverkusen, Valencia, Napoli and Chelsea.
