Former Liverpool Surprised By Klopp’s Decision on Pre-Season Tour

DBasia.news – Former Liverpool player, Jose Enrique, admitted he was confused by Jurgen Klopp’s way of thinking. Enrique highlights Klopp’s decision on the Reds’ pre-season tour.
Liverpool are on a pre-season tour of Austria. The Reds hope with the program that has been compiled the players will return to the highest level of fitness.
Liverpool also won 1-0 against Mainz last week. It was the first win for Mohamed Salah and his friends during the pre-season tour.
In the duel, Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate appeared as doorstops. According to growing reports, Konate and Matip are the two players most likely to start in the opening game of the season.
Liverpool will face Norwich City on August 14 at Carrow Road. Then, the Reds will return to Anfield and will challenge Burnley.
That way, the chances of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to appear at the start of the season become difficult. Moreover, Klopp does not plan to play the two players in the next friendly against Herta Berlin.
Klopp’s decision makes Enrique confused. “Don’t understand why Van Dijk and Gomez haven’t played during pre-season,” Enrique wrote.
“I believe we are in good condition. However, I want to see how Gomez and Van Dijk are as well. Because, after a long time they still haven’t had minutes to play. Hopefully they are fine,” he continued.
Indeed, Jurgen Klopp’s choice has a reason. Last season, Van Dijk and Gomez were mostly in the treatment room to recover from injuries.
