France must find a replacement for Christopher Nkunku

By db-admin

DBasia.news – The French national team remains with 26 players to compete in the 2022 World Cup. Les Blues have received the blessing of FIFA to find a replacement for Christopher Nkunku.

Nkunku has been canceled from competing in the 2022 World Cup after suffering an injury during the last training for the French national team before flying to Qatar. After undergoing an examination, the RB Leipzig player will not recover until the tournament begins.

The registration deadline for the 2022 World Cup players actually closed on November 14. On that date, each participating team must register a list of 26 players who will participate.

But each team still has the opportunity to change players before playing the first game. The condition is that there must be a statement explaining that the player who has registered has suffered an injury.

In the case of the French national team, the FIFA Medical Committee has approved Nkunku’s withdrawal from the list of French national team players. The defending champion immediately announced his replacement.

Eintracht Frankfurt striker, Randal Kolo Muani has the honor to replace Nkunku. He will complete France’s front line which also includes Karim Benzema, Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe.

Interestingly, Kolo Muani was in Japan with his club when he received the French national team call-up. The 23-year-old player will also have a direct private flight to Qatar to catch up with his team-mates.

Muani is not a new name in the French national team squad. He has made appearances in the last two matches of the 2022 UEFA Nations League against Austria and Denmark.

Kolo Muani has also appeared quite sharp with Frankfurt this season. From 23 matches in all competitions, he was able to create eight goals and eleven assists.
