Frank Lampard Admits on having no objections if Willian Leaves

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Willian’s future is still unclear with Chelsea. Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard said he had no problem if the winger left.

Willian’s contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of this season. The two parties actually wants to continue their bond of working together.

But there is a mismatch between Willian and Chelsea related to the duration of the contract extension. This makes it difficult for the two parties to continue.

Willian wants his three-year contract. But Chelsea only offered him an extension of his two-year term of service.

“I have a great relationship with Willian and honestly don’t know what his decision is. “If the decision will be made in the next few days as he said, it will be good for me,” Lampard stated.

Lampard did not deny that he still needed Willian’s power. This season his role is still vital with achieving eleven goals and nine assists from 47 matches in all competitions.

But that does not mean that the Brazilian player’s role cannot be replaced. Lampard would have prepared a plan if he had to lose Willian next season.

“He was brilliant for us this season with his contribution and work ethic in the squad. However, this is his decision and I respect whatever it is,” he added.

“He has become a great servant for Chelsea. If he decides to leave, then Chelsea will continue to live and we must take care of ourselves.”

Chelsea does not worry about losing Willian. They have a number of players such as Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, and Hakim Ziyech who can fill the gap.

The match against Bayern Munich in the second leg of the top 16 2019-2020 Champions League, August 8, could be Willian’s last match with Chelsea. The chance of the London club to qualify for the next phase is indeed slim as they are three goals behind and will appear at home to the opponent.
