Frank Lampard does not guarantee Jorginho’s position

As is known, Jorginho is Sarri’s favorite player. His presence last season even made the coach forced to shift N’Golo Kante’s position.

But now with Lampard, the Italian player is guaranteed nothing like a major player. Despite acknowledging the greatness of the midfielder, the former Derby County coach admitted he would still see the development of other players such as Kante and Ross Barkley.

“Jorginho was the talk of quite a lot last year. I have been in his position as a player. He plays in one position and the coach has confidence in him. He becomes something that is always talked about. But here I am a new coach and bring new ideas,” Lampard said.

“We may adapt more easily to the way we play now. I might ask something different about him, Kante, Barkley, or anyone on the team. I don’t want to be caught up in last year’s conversation,” he said again.

Nevertheless, this Chelsea legend claimed to be impressed with the progress of the players brought in from Naples. “He is very comfortable with the ball and always shows courage in the field,” he said.

“It’s not normal for other players to receive the ball in a narrow area. but he can do it very well. His attitude during training was also extraordinary. The first impression I worked with was very good. I’m happy to have a player like Jorginho on the team,” Lampard added.
