Frank Lampard Will Rotate Chelsea’s Penalty Executor
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Chelsea manager Frank Lampard admitted that he would rotate the team’s penalty taker after Timo Werner scored a goal from the white spot during a 4-0 win over Kranodar in the Champions League group stage on Thursday (29/10) early morning WIB. Previously, Jorginho failed to carry out his duties.
Jorginho, who has been appointed as the executor of the penalty twice, failed in the last four occasions. Lampard claimed there was no problem with jumping up and down before kicking Jorginho’s penalty. However, Lampard cannot confirm whether Jorginho will still be in charge of kicking the penalty.
“Jorginho has been very successful in scoring penalties in his career, especially at Chelsea,” said Lampard as quoted by Tribalfootball, Thursday.
Lampard explained that not all players can complete penalties throughout his career. Lampard also admitted to having failed when he was a player. Therefore, he did not mind Jorginho’s kicking style.
“But I know Timo Werner is very capable of taking penalties, as we have seen,” he concluded.
Lampard added that his team has other players who can kick penalties. He will discuss the duties of the penalty taker with the rest of the team before deciding whether to keep Jorginho or not.
Chelsea played dominant in the match. The Blues continued to press through new strikers Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Werner.
