Frank Lampard’s allusion to Olivier Giroud
By db-admin
DBasia.news – As he quipped Olivier Giroud, Chelsea striker, Frank Lampard revealed the criteria for selecting players in his team.
France’s national team coach, Didier Deschamps, previously expressed his disappointment related to Giroud’s minimal flight hours at Stamford Bridge. In fact, the player is very fertile in the French national team with notched goals in the match.
As for Lampard, Tammy Abraham is the main striker, while Michy Batshuayi is the second choice. Abraham has scored nine goals in 15 matches, while Batshuayi has scored seven in nine matches. Giroud himself has only played six times and scored one goal.
“This is difficult for me and difficult for the national team coach. We both have our respective jobs. I have to take care of all the players. “I have to choose the squad that I think is best for Chelsea like they did for their country,” Lampard said at Soccerway.
“I have three strikers to choose from and I have to make choices. I can’t complain about their attitude.”
Because of this situation, Giroud is reported to want to leave Chelsea in January.
“I will always talk to players who say they don’t want to play for this football club, whoever they are. It was something where I would have a clear and honest conversation with them. We are not yet at that point so we don’t need to discuss it now,” Lampard added.
