DBasia.news – Wales national team winger Gareth Bale was silent when asked about his future with The Dragon. But finally he opened his voice after his team was eliminated from the 2020 European Cup.
Wales had to go home after being subdued by Denmark with a score of 0-4 in the round of 16 at the Johan Cruyff Arena, Saturday (26/06). Bale expressed his disappointment at failing to advance to Euro 2020.
About his future in the Wales national team, the 31-year-old initially did not want to talk. However, Bale finally gave a firm statement that he would continue to strengthen the Wales national team.
“I want to keep playing. People ask stupid questions all the time, but obviously I like playing for Wales,” Bale said.
“I will play for Wales until the day I stop playing football.”
Bale has scored 33 goals and provided 20 assists in 96 games across competitions for Wales. In 2022, Wales will compete in the World Cup qualifiers held in September.
“We are just starting our journey to the World Cup and we have to take advantage of this experience,” Bale said.
“I think we have a very good way of playing, when we play well. We have to maintain that confidence, keep playing and I think we can qualify for the next World Cup,” he concluded.
