Bale is called “The Golfer” or golf player because the 29-year-old player spends more of his free time playing golf. Courtois, further recounting that the former Tottenham Hotspur player was a loner and kept his distance from other Madrid players.

“It is very difficult to describe Gareth with one word. I would say he has many talents, but it is very unfortunate that his talents are often blocked from glory,” Courtois said about Bale, reported Sky Sports.

“I live like someone who was born and grew up in Madrid. I eat late, I sleep late … this is their lifestyle. One night we had dinner with the whole squad.”

“But, Bale and (Toni) Kroos did not come. They knew the dinner was too late at night. We were scheduled to be in the restaurant at 9:30 a.m. and we started eating around 10:15 a.m., and in the middle of the night we were drinking coffee.”

“We slept around 1:00 in the morning. We had to practice every morning at 11:00 a.m. I thought it was the perfect time. But, Bale told us ‘I did not join you. I slept at 11:00 a.m.’,” explained Courtois.

Not only Courtois who criticized Bale’s lifestyle which tended to keep his distance from Madrid players, Marcelo and Madrid coach John Toschack also considered Bale should learn Spanish because he currently lives in Spain.
