DBasia.news – Real Madrid won on penalties against Arsenal in the International Champions Cup which took place at FedExField, Wednesday morning (24/7) Western Indonesian Time. Gareth Bale scored one goal and a penalty in the match.
The fight was fierce at FedEXField. Just running nine minutes, Nacho Fernandez, Madrid defender, was sent off and a minute later Alexandre Lacazette scored from the spot.
Arsenal’s advantage increased when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in the 24th minute. But, before the first half ended, Arsenal also played with 10 players after Sokratis Papastathopoulos was sent off. Both teams played with 10 players and Arsenal were 2-0 up.
In the second half, when Zinedine Zidane put Gareth Bale, the player immediately paid for him with a goal in the 56th minute which was later doubled by Marco Asensio’s goal in the 59th minute. In the shootout, Madrid won the match via a 3-2 victory.
Zidane immediately praised Bale’s appearance against the Gunners. Although previously, he clarified the objection to the accusation of Bale’s agent who considered himself not respecting Bale and hoped he would leave Madrid.
“Gareth Bale has played the match well and played well. I am happy for him,” Zidane said about Bale, quoted from Sky Sports.
“He is with us. For now, he is with us. He has played because he wants to be with us and play, the other day is not. He has played and done well.”
“It is my decision and for the future, we will see what will happen later. Nothing has changed, you know the situation,” Zidane added.
Nevertheless, Bale’s future is still in doubt in Madrid. One match does not guarantee he will continue to survive, considering Zidane has no play plan involving the former Tottenham Hotspur player.
