Krzysztof Piatek

DBasia.news –  It seems like there would be no end for AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso to talk about Krzysztof Piatek, the new striker signed from Genoa worth 35 million euro.

Previously, Piatek is mentioned similar to Robocop due to his stiffness when talking. This time, Gattuso said he looks like the Milan legend in 2002-2005, John Dahl Tomasson.

“Piatek comes across like Robocop. He only says four words, he doesn’t get lost in chatter and he’s also showed it in training,” Gattuso said after Piatek’s first practice.

Now, Gattuso sees Piatek like his former teammate in Milan, Tomasson, from the character and working spirit. He always practices with commitment and high determination.

“Piatek reminds me of Tomasson. He had some very specific characteristics. Jon never spared himself in training and gave us a huge hand, also when he played from the start,” Gattuso said cited from Football-Italia.

“Piatek has just joined, but I like him already. He’s a curious lad who looks at photos at Milanello: he likes to observe, talk and experience the structure here first hand. It’s something beautiful,” he explained.

Piatek, 23, has started his debut with Milan when played with no goal against Napoli in the Serie A match. The Polish striker came as the successor of Gonzalo Higuain who left to Chelsea.

Currently, Piatek is the fourth top-scorer of Serie A under Fabio Quagliarella (16 goals), Cristiano Ronaldo (15 goals), and Duvan Zapata (15 goals). His accuracy might continue in Milan with the better squad than Genoa.

Compared to Tomasson should be an honor for Piatek. Apparently, Tomasson is the reliable striker in Milan and often became the decisive player.

During his early arrival from Feyenoord, Tomasson didn’t qualify for the main squad. But, in three seasons, Tomasson scored 35 goals and helped the club won the Champions League.

Tomasson was the right option for Il Diavolo Rosso who have two great strikers at that time, Andriy Shevchenko and Filippo Inzaghi.
