Genoa Ask Team to Not Rely on Piatek
By news-admin
Genoa
DBasia.news – Last week, Krzysztof Piatek equalized the record from Andriy Shevchenko who scored 5 goals in 4 initial matches of 1999 Serie a. Wednesday (26/9), the Polish striker wrote the new record: the first player in Genoa FC history who netted the ball in 5 initial domestic matches.
Empoli FC, US Sassuolo, Bologna FC, SS Lazio, and recently AC Chievo Verona became the victims. Besides against Sassuolo and Lazio, all Piatek’s goals contributed to Genoa’s victory. No wonder, the 23-year-old player becomes the new idol for Marassi.
That excludes four goals in the third round of the Italy Cup against US Lecce. Another impressive record that has never been created by any player in the competition, throughout I Grifone’s history.
Overall, Piatek has scored 10 goals in all competitions, the first player who reached that number in 5 Europe’s top competitions. His average accuracy is impressive, 1,6 goal for every match. What a great statistic, considering the former KS Cracovia player just entered the Italian football for the first time.
Krzysztof Piatek
“Piatek is a great player. We hope he can present the performance like this,” Genoa President Enrico Preziosi delighted. Similarly, coach Davide Ballardini added, “Krzysztof is not only thinking about the goal but also helping the teammate. He is the complete package of modern striker.”
The No. 9 bomber returned the smile in Preziosi’s face. But, the club owner still requests the improvement of the whole team, especially when playing away.
Not only relying on Piatek, but the other players also have to enhance their performance on the pitch. The visit to Frosinone on Sunday (30/9) will be the real deal.
