Giroud feels young again after joining AC Milan

“I still feel like a child even though I am 35, or almost 35 years old. When I was young, I admired Jean-Pierre Papin, Andriy Shevchenko and of course Paolo (Maldini),” Giroud told MilanTV.

“This team makes me dream. I am also a big fan of Marco van Basten. So many great European players have played at this big club,” the former Chelsea player continued.

“Milan have a great history in Europe and that’s why I wanted to join. Also playing in the best competition in Europe, in the Champions League, and I hope we can achieve great things with the team.”

Giroud’s decision to join Milan as well as bring him closer to his family. Grenoble, which is where Giroud comes from, is only five hours to Milan by road.

“I will also be closer to my family, because I come from Grenoble. I am very excited, I can’t wait to play the first game,” Giroud confirmed.
