Goal-less Draw in the Inter Milan Game against AS Roma
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Pau Lopez suffered an injury and his position as AS Roma’s main goalkeeper was replaced by Antonio Mirante when against Inter Milan in the Serie A match.
Indeed Mirante was the first goalkeeper of Giallorossi last season. But he has more often warms the bench this season.
Apparently he became a key figure in the success of Rome to hold Inter with a score of 0-0. He managed to keep the goal of Paulo Fonseca’s team remain clean sheets when dealing with the Serie A leaders.
Inter does have some golden opportunities. Like at the start of the first half, where Jordan Veretout’s bait has made Romelu Lukaku stand freely.
However, Lukaku’s kicks was countered by Giallorossi goalkeeper, Antonio Mirante. Then at the end of the first half, it was Mirante’s turn to make the wrong pass.
Lukaku uses it by giving feedback to Marcelo Brozovic. But the Croatia national team’s kick soared.
The second half, Inter were increasingly aggressive. But Mirante’s chances were countered again. Like Matias Vecino’s kick that he was able to ward off.
After the match, Fonseca praised the contribution of Mirante plus two central defenders, Chris Smalling and Gianluca Mancini who according to him performed well.
“Mancini and Smalling played safe at the back. Overall, the back line played well,” Fonseca stated.
“Mirante is also a great goalkeeper. He showed a perfect performance tonight,” he added.
Thanks to one point from home to Inter, it means that Roma have not lost while playing at the Giuseppe Meazza since 2015. In total in the last 15 visits to this stadium, Roma have only lost three times.
