Goals against Man United Are the Best for Kaka
By db-admin
DBasia.news – In the 122-year history of the founding of AC Milan, there have been so many legendary players who played there. There is no end to discussing the legends of the team that won seven Champions League titles.
One of the many legends is Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite or commonly known as Kaka. The elegant Brazilian attacking midfielder won the Ballon d’Or in 2007 and became the ‘human’ between the two aliens who dominated him, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 2002 World Cup winner played in Milan in mid 2003-2009 and the second period in 2013-2014. Besides Milan, the winner of a Serie A title and the Champions League has also defended Real Madrid and Orlando City.
Now Kaka has retired and on that occasion he answered fan questions for FourFourTwo. Kaka recalls one of the best goals of his career. There are three moments he remembers well.
One in the 2007 Champions League when he scored against Manchester United in the semifinals, then another two goals in the 2006 World Cup against Croatia and a friendly against Argentina in the same year, when Kaka met Lionel Messi.
“For the club, this is my second (best goal) at Old Trafford, because it was a beautiful goal and also very important (against United),” said Kaka.
“For Brazil, the most important goal was against Croatia in the 2006 World Cup: it was just before half-time and it ended up being the only goal.”
“But I have to mention the one I scored against Argentina in a 2006 friendly at the Arsenal stadium. I was basically running from box to box and Leo Messi was running behind me, trying to stop me. I really like that.”
The goal that was created at Old Trafford by Kaka was beautiful and deserves to be one of the best. Kaka dribbled and used his head to move the ball, then United defenders Patrice Evra and Gabriel Heinze were made to collide with each other.
It shows his genius playing football and coupled with Kaka’s natural talent. He also scored a total of three goals that took Milan past United in the semifinals and then beat Liverpool in the final.
Towards the end of his career, Kaka’s performance was far from satisfactory and there were many injuries. But at prime time it is very difficult to snatch the ball from his feet. The period from 2006 to 2008 was the best moment in his career.
“Between 2006 and 2008, I was at my peak both physically and mentally. You are mature and your body understands and reacts perfectly to what needs to be done,” added Kaka.
“I was calm enough to make the right decisions during that period, and I put in great form during those three years.”
“The one against Manchester United was the best, for sure. Both legs were unforgettable. Many Italian journalists and Milan fans considered the match at the San Siro (a 3-0 win) the perfect match,” he explained.
