Gonzalo Higuain Has Better Statistic Than Giroud and Morata

Gonzalo Higuain

DBasia.news – The recent Italian Super Cup match against Juventus could be the last for Gonzalo Higuain with AC Milan. El Pipita is likely joining Chelsea.

“Agreement reached between Juventus and Chelsea for Gonzalo Higuain! Loan + buy option for 6 months; it can be extended as loan also for one year more (2019/2020 season),” said Europe transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Higuain, 31, is lent by Juventus to Milan. Rossoneri would use Higuain’s service until the end of the season, as cited in Juventus’ contract. Moreover, Milan signed him 18 million euro at the beginning of the season with a 36 million euro permanent option.

But, the final call is on him and Juventus. La Vecchia Signora are negotiating with Chelsea about the price and option to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

“Gonzalo Higuain probably will not be ready to play against Arsenal… but yes, it’s confirmed: he’s coming to Chelsea, just waiting to arrive in London and sign his contract!” Romano added.

Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso could do nothing knowing that Higuain has made the decision, moving to Chelsea.

One of the triggers is the presence of Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, his former coach in Napoli. Besides that, The Blues are one level higher than Milan from the playing quality.

Moreover, Chelsea really need the accurate and opportunist player that could score the goal. Higuain could do what Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud couldn’t.

Gonzalo Higuain’s Sharpness

Olivier Giroud

“Since his Real Madrid debut in January 2007, Gonzalo Higuaín has scored 224 goals in the top five European leagues; only Lionel Messi (390), Cristiano Ronaldo (378), Edinson Cavani (239) & Zlatan Ibrahimovic (237) have scored more,” @OptaJoe tweeted.

Higuain has a rather different strategy compared to Giroud and Morata. He is more like Giroud from the target man side: the ball barrier in the front line while waiting for the movement from the second line. However, Higuain is more opportunist.

Morata is more like a modern striker who likes to pick up the ball and play wide to open the gap in the contender’s defensive line.

No need to find the proofs in the past that Higuain is better than both of them. It could be seen from the goalscoring achievement in the LaLiga.

Higuain who played 15 times in the Serie A scored 6 goals. Morata scored 5 goals from 16 matches and Giroud scored 1 goal from 17 Premier League matches. Higuain’s goals are the total of both of them.

Higuain’s successful passing is also higher than them. The Argentinian striker has 83,7% accuracy and Giroud is just 68,2 and Morata 76,9%.

The goal conversion of Higuain is also higher 6:1 Giroud and 6:5 Morata. The River Plate academy alumni also often released the shot, 18 of 52 chances are on target.

In the 2015-2016 season, Higuain scored 26 goals from 35 Serie A matches under Sarri in Napoli. That’s what Chelsea expect from Higuain because currently, The Blues front line is too dependent on Eden Hazard.

“Running the channels is not his forte, but I don’ think Chelsea are looking for him to do that. They’re looking for him to play in a certain area,” said football pundit Craig Burley in ESPN.

“They’re looking for the intricate movement against teams that play deep against Chelsea where (Eden) Hazard can pick that little pass out and Higuain can pull off the back of defenders and the movement’s clever and they get the ball in the box.”

“They’ve had a lot of possession, sometimes too much possession. Now with him up front, they know the quicker they get it in the box with better quality, they’ve got a guy who can finish,” Burley added.

That’s what Chelsea expect from Higuain: an opportunist who could finish the passing from the teammate and could attract the contender. Chelsea wing striker could move easily if Higuain plays his best.
