Good news for England national team

DBasia.news – There is good news for the England national team ahead of the start of the 2022 World Cup. Reece James had the opportunity to join Gareth Southgate’s team to go to Qatar.

As is known, the 2022 World Cup will take place from November 20. However, each participating team must determine a list of 26 players to compete in the tournament.

England’s preparations for the 2022 World Cup have been disrupted by a storm of injuries, especially at wing-back. Reece James, Kyle Walker, and Ben Chilwell were all injured.

Chilwell has even been confirmed to have failed to head to the World Cup due to his lengthy recovery period. Meanwhile, the condition of James and Walker is still in question.

The good news for Chelsea according to manager Graham Potter is in the midst of doubts. He stated that James was very close to making a comeback.

“Reece (James) was out today for a little jog, but there’s nothing to report about anything else,” Potter said at a press conference ahead of the game against Manchester City.

James suffered an injury when Chelsea beat AC Milan 2-0 at the San Siro, last October. At that time his knee had issues and he had to be sidelined until now.

James’ injury certainly makes England manager Gareth Southgate uneasy. The 22-year-old player has indeed become the main option at the right wing-back post.

“We don’t want to rush things, and I certainly don’t want to put a timescale on it. It’s up to him, the doctors and the physiotherapists,” Potter stated.
